Ingredients Matter. Sourcing Matters. Especially When It Comes to Vitamin C.

When most people see “Vitamin C” on a skincare label, they think of brightness, glow, and healthy-looking skin. And yes — Vitamin C is one of the most beloved ingredients in skincare for a reason. It helps support a more radiant complexion, encourages an even-looking skin tone, and brings life back to skin that feels dull or tired.

But what many people don’t realize is this:

Not all Vitamin C is sourced the same way.

And to me, that matters.

At Love + Be Well, we believe ingredients are more than just names on a label. They carry a story. They come from somewhere. They are either thoughtfully chosen or simply selected because they are easy, inexpensive, or widely available.

That difference is important.

Ascorbic Acid Can Come From Different Sources

Ascorbic acid is the form of Vitamin C often used in skincare and wellness products. But ascorbic acid can be sourced in different ways.

Some ascorbic acid is made synthetically. In certain manufacturing processes, it can be derived through fermentation involving mold-based sources. Other forms may be sourced from plants, including citrus or cassava.

On a label, these may all appear under the same familiar name: ascorbic acid.

But behind that ingredient name, the source can be very different.

And this is where sourcing becomes part of the integrity of a product.

Why Sourcing Matters to Us

My journey into clean living began long before Love + Be Well became a skincare brand. After my MS diagnosis in 2014, I started looking closely at everything I was putting in and on my body. Food. Household products. Skincare. Supplements. Ingredients I used to overlook suddenly became part of a much bigger conversation about wellness, trust, and nourishment.

That journey changed the way I see formulation.

I don’t just ask, “Does this ingredient work?”

I ask:

Where does it come from?
How is it sourced?
Does it align with the way I want to care for my body and my skin?
Would I feel good giving this to my daughters, my friends, my customers?

Because clean beauty is not just about avoiding certain ingredients. It is also about choosing better ones.

Our Vitamin C Comes From Citrus Peel

All Love + Be Well Vitamin C products are made with citrus peel ascorbic acid.

We chose this source intentionally.

Citrus peels are naturally rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants, and they beautifully align with our philosophy of using ingredients that feel close to nature, purposeful, and supportive of healthy, glowing skin.

For us, citrus peel ascorbic acid feels like the right choice — not just because of what it does for the skin, but because of where it comes from.

It reflects the care we put into every formula.

The Love + Be Well Standard

Every product we create is rooted in the belief that your skin deserves ingredients that are thoughtful, effective, and beautifully sourced.

Vitamin C should do more than sound good on a label. It should reflect a deeper commitment to quality.

That is why we take the time to choose ingredients that feel aligned with our values — clean, elevated, intentional, and supportive of graceful aging.

Because your skin is living.
Your body is wise.
And what you use every day matters.

A More Thoughtful Glow

The glow we believe in is not harsh, rushed, or artificial.

It is nourished.
It is cared for.
It is supported by ingredients chosen with intention.

So when you reach for one of our Vitamin C products, know that it was created with more than brightness in mind. It was created with sourcing, integrity, and your well-being at the heart of the formula.

Because ingredients matter.

Sourcing matters.

And your skin deserves both.

Kakadu Plum Oil: The Glow Ingredient We Can’t Stop Using - Be Well Company

Kakadu Plum Oil: The Glow Ingredient We Can’t Stop Using

Every once in a while, we discover an ingredient that quietly earns permanent space inside our formulations.

Not because it is trendy.
Not because social media decided it was the ingredient of the month.

But because the skin genuinely responds beautifully to it.

Kakadu plum oil became one of those ingredients for us.

And honestly?
The glow it gives the skin feels almost unfair.

What Is Kakadu Plum Oil?

Kakadu plum comes from the tropical regions of northern Australia and has long been treasured for its incredibly rich antioxidant content.

While the fruit itself is widely known for its naturally high vitamin C levels, the oil is cold-pressed from the seeds — creating a lightweight botanical oil that feels deeply nourishing while remaining beautifully elegant on the skin.

Think:
radiance,
softness,
hydration,
and healthy-looking glow without heaviness.

Brightening Without The Harshness

One thing we love most about Kakadu plum oil is the way it supports brighter-looking skin gently over time.

Skin that feels:
dull,
uneven,
tired,
or lacking radiance…

often responds beautifully to antioxidant-rich ingredients paired with consistent hydration and barrier support.

We are much more interested in skincare that coaxes the skin back to life softly rather than aggressively forcing results overnight.

That slower approach tends to create the healthiest glow long term.

Supporting Graceful Aging

As skin matures, supporting collagen and protecting the skin barrier becomes increasingly important.

Kakadu plum oil naturally contains antioxidants that help support the skin against environmental stressors while encouraging a smoother, more radiant appearance over time.

We especially love it for skin that feels:
dehydrated,
tired,
sun-stressed,
or simply in need of more nourishment.

Healthy-looking skin tends to look plumper, calmer, and more alive when supported consistently.

Lightweight But Nourishing

One misconception people often have about oils is that they must feel heavy to be effective.

Kakadu plum oil is incredibly lightweight while still leaving the skin feeling comforted and replenished.

It layers beautifully alongside:
hydrating serums,
facial mists,
rich creams,
and moisture masks.

The finish feels more:
velvety,
fresh,
and radiant…

than oily.

Why We Love It Inside Honey Glow

Inside our Honey Glow Polish + Moisture Mask, Kakadu plum oil works alongside wild honey, cocoa butter, and nourishing botanicals to help support softer, brighter-looking skin while delivering a deeply comforting ritual experience.

As the skin is gently polished and replenished, Kakadu plum oil helps support:

  • radiance
  • hydration
  • smoothness
  • overall skin vitality

It became one of those ingredients we kept returning to because of the way skin simply looks healthier after consistent use.

Also Found Inside Radiance Facial Oil

We loved Kakadu plum oil so much that it naturally found its way into our Radiance Facial Oil as well.

Because when an ingredient supports glow this beautifully while remaining gentle and microbiome-friendly, it fits perfectly into the Love + Be Well philosophy.

Nourishment over harshness.
Support over stripping.
Glow through consistency.

The Kind Of Glow We Believe In

At Love + Be Well, we are not chasing perfection skin.

We are interested in skin that looks:
healthy,
soft,
supported,
hydrated,
rested,
and beautifully alive.

Kakadu plum oil fits into that vision perfectly.

Not because it is a miracle ingredient —
but because it helps support the skin in a way that feels gentle, intelligent, and sustainable over time.

And honestly?
That kind of glow tends to last the longest anyway.

Love + Be Well,
Natalie
