Lately I’ve been thinking about the phrase soft living.

It’s become a popular expression online, often painted as a life of slow mornings, beautiful homes, and perfectly curated routines. While there’s nothing wrong with finding beauty in those things, I think soft living runs much deeper.

To me, soft living isn’t about escaping life.

It’s about changing the way we move through it.

Years ago, my body forced me to pay attention. Living with multiple sclerosis taught me that constantly pushing, rushing, and running on empty always comes with a cost. Healing didn’t come from doing more. It came from learning to slow down enough to listen.

Today, soft living looks surprisingly ordinary.

It’s stocking the refrigerator with nourishing foods before they’re needed.

It’s taking a few extra minutes to massage facial oil into my skin instead of rushing through another task.

It’s sitting in the morning sun with a cup of tea before opening my laptop.

It’s saying yes to an evening of jazz under the trees instead of another night of distractions.

It’s choosing rituals that support my nervous system instead of habits that leave me depleted.

Soft living doesn’t mean life becomes easy. We still have deadlines, responsibilities, hard conversations, and unexpected seasons. But we can choose how we meet them.

We can nourish instead of neglect.

We can pause instead of constantly performing.

We can create moments that remind us to come home to ourselves.

That’s what Love + Be Well has always been about.

The skincare was never just skincare. The recipes were never just recipes. The gatherings were never simply events.

They’ve always been invitations to live with a little more intention.

To care for yourself without guilt.

To find beauty in the everyday.

To believe that wellness isn’t something you achieve one day—it’s something you practice in small moments, over and over again.

Maybe soft living isn’t another trend.

Maybe it’s simply remembering that your life doesn’t have to feel rushed to be meaningful.

And perhaps the most beautiful glow we can cultivate isn’t one we see in the mirror at all.

It’s the quiet confidence that comes from living in a way that truly cares for us.

Love + Be Well,
